Eliza Eastman
1862-1880
Eliza was born in Greenham Berkshire in 1862. She was the daughter of William & Eliza Eastman (nee Wood) who were married in Newbury in 1851.
Other children of William and Eliza were:
Joseph born 1852
William Edward born 1855
Mary Ann born 1857
John James born 1859
In 1861 the family were living in Greenham (Greenham Mill) and Eliza’s father William was working as a Tanner’s Labourer.
When Eliza was 3 years old her mother Eliza passed away aged 42, she was buried in Greenham on 25th September 1865.
In 1871 the family were living in Bradley’s Yard in the parish of St Nicolas Newbury. Living with the family at this time were Mary Viner aged 32 (Housekeeper) and her son Henry Viner aged 1. (Mary was William’s step-sister his mother married Mary’s father in 1838) Later that year William married Mary Viner.
Eliza’s father William Eastman died age 50 in 1873 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on 5th November
Eliza Eastman died aged 17 in 1880 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on 9th January.
