Emily Jane Edwell

EMILY JANE EDWELL

She was born in 1844 in Fawley,  Hampshire, to James and Hannah Wheller (sometimes Wheeler) and baptised on 1 February 1844.  Her father was the Innkeeper at the Ship Inn, Lepe, Exbury. In 1861 she is in domestic service at the Tiller household, 9 Market Street, Southampton, and in 1871 she is living with her widowed mother in Southampton: her occupation is Book Keeper. She married Walter Kossuth Edwell, Ironmonger of 20 Bartholomew Street, in 1874 in Southampton. She died on 13 December 1879 aged 33 years at Westfields  in Newbury and she was buried on 17 December 1879.
