Transciption: | WILLIAM BLUNDELL FUNERAL OF A VETERAN TEETOTALLER Yesterday the remains of William Blundell, of Bartholomew Almshouses, a total abstainer of 40 years experience, were laid in their last resting place in the Cemetery. Deceased was one of the few men who took up the principles of total abstinence at a time when they were decidedly unpopular, and their advocacy exposed him to a deal of contumely and sometimes even rough treatment. He lived however to see his opinions on this subject respected, and adopted by persons in all ranks of society. Deceased died at the age of 85 years, and was borne to the grave by six teetotallers, two of them boilermakers, one of the most laborious of trades.
