Transciption: | MATHEW ROSIER FUNERAL OF A " RECHABITE."—On Monday last the remains of Matthew Rosier were borne to the grave by the members of the Independent Order of Rechabites, of which the deceased was a member, his death being the first in the John Wynchcomb Tent. The scholars and teachers of the Primitive Methodist Sunday School also followed in procession to the grave, where an impressive service was conducted by the Rev. L. Norris, assisted by the Rev. G. Wallis ; the teachers and scholars singing at intervals the affecting hymns, " Meet me in that lovely land,' and "The angels' welcome home," many of the spectators being bathed in tears, especially when the Rev. L. Norris spoke of the consistent life of the deceased, and the dying assurance he received from him an hour before his death. Mr. J. H. Thompson, district treasurer of the I.0.R., and superintendent of the Sunday School, read the Rechabite funeral service at the grave. The funeral sermon will be preached next Sunday, at the Primitive Methodist Church.
