Newtown / as a token of esteem / and in / recognition of his services / in promoting the prosperity / of the Lodge / during a period of 40 years. // Kerbstones:South side: In Loving Memory of Mary Maud, the beloved daughter if Thomas Andrew & Mary Ann Newtown / who died April 8th 1878 aged 7. / "The lost to sight, to memory dear." //

Recorder's Notes Thomas Andrew was Master Conectioner of Northbrook St, Newbury. Member of the Oddfellows for 40 years (See MI). He was first married to Esther Cooper of Henley-on-Thames & had 3 sons. After her death he had more children with Mary Anne Cooke, several of whom died very young. Mary Maude was their first child. Their only surviving daughter, Evelyn, went to Canada as a Ladies maid in 1908 a year after her mother's death, married & died there in 1950.
