Willie Osmond
1877-1877
Willie was born in East Ilsley, Berkshire, the son of Richard and Anna Maria Osmond (nee Humphries) who were married on the 25th May 1871 at the Primitive Methodist Chapel, Wootton Bassett.
Willie died aged 12 days, in East Ilsley, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 29th October.
Willie’s family:
His father Richard was a Farmer. He was born on the 3rd May 1847 in Linkenholt, Hampshire, the son of Richard and Jane Gundry Osmond (nee Clark) who were married on 21st July 1846 at the Chapelry of Seend, Melksham, Wiltshire (Richard was from Linkenholt, Hampshire)
His mother Anna Maria was born 23rd January 1849 at Ballards Ash, in the parish of Wootton Bassett, the daughter of Jacob and Ann Humphries (nee White), who were married in 1847 (marriage registered in Cricklade Wilts).
Willie’s siblings were:
Alice Maria born c1873
Gertrude Jane born c1874
Louise Humphries born 1881
The 1871 and 1881 census records record the family living at Church Farm, East Ilsley.
In 1891,1901 and 1911 they were recorded living at Weston Farm, Weston, Berkshire.
In approximately 1913 Richard retired and the family moved to Reading.
Richard, aged 74, died suddenly, on the 20th March 1921 at Baptist Church, Kings-road, Reading. His body was brought to Newbury and he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 24th March.
Anna Maria died aged 72, on the 7th September 1921, her body was brought to Newbury and she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery, with Richard on the 10th September.
