A FEW POSSIBILITES FOR ANN MARIA AND HER PARENTS IN EARLY LIFE, NOTHING CONCRETE FOUND:

Possible 1851 census record for her on ancestry as Ann Denling, aged 12, born Chieveley, inmate in the Newbury Workhouse.  This record on FMP recorded the surname as Darling. There’s a death for an Elizabeth Darling, aged 25, in 1838, in Clewer which could be Ann’s mother.

Two possible Baptisms for her father: 1807, Chieveley, Berkshire, Richard Darling, son of William and Elizabeth or 1809, in Chieveley, Richard Darling, son of Joseph and Mary.  As one of the witnesses to the married in 1837 was Benjamin Darling, this may have been Richard’s brother.
