William Percy Howe and Henry Herbert Howe
1876-1876
William Percy and his twin brother Henry Herbert were born in Newbury, Berkshire, the sons of Thomas Brownrigg and Elizabeth Sophia Howe (nee Beckwith/Backwith) who were married in 1866 (marriage registered in Tunbridge).
William Percy died aged 2months, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 10th August.
His twin brother Henry Herbert died aged 3months, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 19th September.
Their father Thomas Brownrigg Howes was a Photographer, he was born in 1847 and baptised on the 15th March 1848 in Maidstone Kent, the illegitimate son on Mary Adelaide Howes.
Their mother Elizabeth Sophia was born on the 8th May 1841 in Gravesend Kent, the daughter of Parker Thomas/Thomas Parker and Apphia (Sophia) Backwith (nee Battershill) who were married in 1838 in Middlesex.
Thomas and Elizabeth also had the following children:
Lily Iria born 1867 in Tunbridge Wells
Bessie Gertrude c1869 in Tunbridge Wells
Thomas Bruce born 1870 in Newbury
Alice Maud born 1871 in Newbury
Jessie Blanch 1872 in Newbury
Miriam May 1874 in Newbury
Winifred Grace born 1875 in Newbury
Sidney William born 1879 in Newbury
The family were recorded living at 42 Northbrook Street, Newbury in 1871and 1881.
Elizabeth died sometime between 1881 and 1891
Thomas ((43) and his children Jessie (18), Miriam (17), Winifred (15) and Sidney (11) were still living in Northbrook Street in 1891.
Jessie Blanch died 20 on the 25th April 1893, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 28th April.
Thomas remarried on the 6th December 1899 in Greenwich, his 2nd wife was Sarah Rose Clifford. They had two children, both born in Somerset. Muriel born in 1896 and Cyril born in 1904.
The 1901 census records Thomas (51) living at 20 Shaftsbury Ave, Bath, Somerset with Sarah (36), Winifred (25) and Muriel (4).
In 1911 Thomas (61) was recorded as a Photographer (unemployed) living at 9 Newbridge Road, Bath with Sarah (46), Muriel (14) and Cyril (6).
Thomas died aged 73 in 1920 in Sussex.
