Alice Willis (1874 – 1877)
George Willis (1883 – 1942)
William Willis was born in 1846 in Newbury. He married Martha Taylor on 22 October 1871 at St John in Newbury. Martha was born circa 1855 in Newbury.
William and Martha had ten known children, although there may be an eleventh, all born in Newbury and as listed below.

Kate in 1897
Ada Willis died in August 1875 aged 3 months and was buried at Newtown Road Cemetery on 28 August 1875.
Another daughter Alice Willis sadly died aged only 3 and was buried on 5 June 1877 at Newtown Road Cemetery. An announcement appeared in the Newbury Weekly News of 7 June 1877 which read as below.
WILLIS – May 31, at Packer’s Yard, Newbury, Alice daughter of William Willis, aged 3 years.
A son George Willis was also buried at Newtown Road Cemetery on 13 November 1942 (there is a separate article for George).
William and Martha continued to live in Newbury and both were buried at Shaw Cemetery, Martha on 2 March 1935 and William on 4 November 1936.
