Henry Eastman
1870-1875
Henry was born Henry Viner in Newbury he was the illegitimate son of Mary Viner.
In the 1871 census Mary Viner aged 32 and her son Henry Viner aged 1 were recorded living in the household of Mary’s widowed step-brother William Eastman and his family in Bradleys Yard in the parish of St Nicolas Newbury. (Mary’s mother Charlotte died in 1837, her father James Viner married William’s mother Elizabeth Eastman the following year)
Mary Viner and William Eastman were married in Newbury in 1871 and Henry was then known as Henry Eastman.
Henry died in 1875 aged 5 and was laid to rest in Newtown Road Cemetery on the 12th February.
