Herbert Applegate

1873-1874

 

Herbert was born in 1873 in Newbury, he was baptised at St Nicolas Church Newbury on the 24th August 1874 along with his siblings, Thomas Reuben, Daniel, Duncan and Ada Ellen, the children of Phillip & Ellen Applegate (nee Hurren) who were married on the 5th March 1865 at St Mary’s Church West Brompton Middlesex. Phillip and Ellen were both born in Notting Hill London and Phillip was a Hairdresser. Sometime between 1872 and 1873 the family moved to the Broadway Newbury.

Herbert’s siblings were:

Charles Phillip 1865   Thomas Reuben 1867   Daniel c1869   Duncan 1870   Ada Ellen c1872   Walter 1875   Mabel Kate c1877   Leonard c1879   George 1883   Maud c1883 

Herbert died aged 11 months in 1874 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 21st September. His brothers Leonard and George were also buried in the Newtown Road Cemetery.
