Recorder's Notes | Harriet was born in Wilton to Ag Labourer John & Charity Crosby & Baptised in Great Bedwyn. She met Jesse Taylor whilst both were working, as a carter & a house servant for Farmer Edward Withers of Hill Green, Leckhampstead. They married in 1852& a year later their daughter Eliza was born. Jesse was a labourer and Head carter & they lived at Hill Green, Leckhampstead until Jesse's death. He was buried in Leckhampstead Churchyard. Harriet then moved to Newbury where she was a Servant to a widow at 1, Denbigh Villas, Greenham. She died at her daughter's home, 8 Ham Terrace, King's Rd (now Kings Rd West), Newbury. James Edward Landcastle
He was born in 1849 in Axbridge, Burnham, Somerset. In the 1871 Census he is visiting his uncle James Landcastle who lives in Newport, Monmouthshire, Wales, and he is working as a labourer. He married Eliza Taylor in 1880 in Newbury and from 1881 his occupation is Wood Machinist (Sawyer) living at 36 Jack Street (1881), 1 Albert Cottages, Speen (1891) and 8 Ham Terrace (1901). In 1911 he is living with his wife Eliza and nephew Albert Ernest Taylor (age 17 – a Newspaper Agents Assistant) at 3 Winchcombe Road, Newbury. He died aged 75 years and he was buried on 26 February 1924.
