John Milsom (1799 — 1869)
Maria Milsom . nee Duck (1802 — 1877)
John was born circa 1799 at Yattendon. He married Margaret at St Mary in Thatcham. Margaret was born 18 October 1800 November 1800 at St Mary in Thatcham (her brother Charles Road. Cemetery on 11 April 1872)
Hughes on 8 August 1824 at Crookham & baptized 23 was buried at Newtown
Margaret died March 1829 while living at Crookham & was buried 8 March 1829 at St Mary in Thatcham.
John remarried in Q4 1849 in Newbury district to Maria Duck. Maria was born 20 September 1802 probably in Henwick & baptized 26 September 1802 at St Mary in Thatcham.
In the 1841 census both John & Maria were in the Union Workhouse in Newbury with John recorded as a labourer.
In the 1851 census John & Maria were living in Does Buildings in Northbrook Street in Newbury. John was recorded as a coal merchant. Maria's birthplace was recorded as Henwick.
In the 1861 census John & Maria were still living in Does Buildings in Northbrook Street with John still a coal merchant. Maria's birthplace was recorded as Thatcham.
John died 9 December 1869 aged 70 while living at King John's Almhouses & was buried 15 December 1869 at Newtown Road Cemetery after a service at St John the Evangelist in Newbury.
No trace of Maria in the 1871 census. Maria died 11 November 1877 aged 75 & was buried 19 November 1877 at Newtown Road Cemetery after a service at St Nicolas in Newbury.
