FUNERAL SERMON.- On Sunday evening the funeral sermon of the late Mr. Michael Osmond, of the Andover-road, was preached at the Primitive Methodist Chapel, by the Rev. G. Wallis. The service was numerously attended, several from other denominations being present out of respect for the memory of the deceased.
From the sketch of his life read, it appeared that Mr. Ormond united himself with the Primitive Methodists in 1828, the same year that the first preachers of that body missioned Hampshire, and continued an attached member and local preacher throughout his life, bearing his share in the prosecution which fell to the lot of the people of his choice, and devoting himself to the work which he felt had been assigned him by Providence.
His death took place a few weeks since at Ventnor, whither he had gone to recruit his strength after an attack of illness. Mr. Osmond, we are informed, has left legacies to various chapels in the Newbury circuit.
