DEATH OF A COUNCILLOR’S DAUGHTER

THE LATE MRS NASH

Mr. Councillor and Mrs. Frank Hill, of the Railway Hotel, Newbury, have sustained heavy bereavement by the death of their daughter, Mrs. Minnie Louisa Nash, wife of George William Nash, of Folkestone.

The latter is well known in Newbury as a clever entertainer, and it was only last Christmas that he kindly visited No. 99, and afforded immense pleasure to the old folks. On that occasion he was accompanied by his wife, who was then in full health and spirits, showing sympathetic interest in the affairs.

Recently she was found to be suffering from a serious ailment in the head, and underwent an operation in the Royal Victoria Hospital, Folkestone. This was temporarily successful, but death followed relapse. Mrs. Nash was a native of High Wycombe, and had been married eleven years, residing at Newbury until removal to Folkstone.

The funeral took place on Monday, when St John’s Church was filled with a congregation of relatives and friends. The Vicar (Rev. E.H. Stenning) officiated, and the interment was at the Newtown-road Cemetery

The mourners were Mr. George Nash (husband), Mr. Councillor and Mrs Frank Hill (father and mother), Miss Hill (sister), Mr. A. Hill (brother), Mrs. Butler (aunt), Mrs. Standage (aunt), Mr. S. Nash (brother-in-law), Mrs. Percy (sister-in-law), Mr. W. Hirst (uncle), Mrs. F. Langley, Miss Jesse Bone, Mr. C. Frank (Kingsto-upon-Thames), Mrs. Robins, Mrs.Meecham, Mrs. White.

The oak coffin was inscribed

“Minnie Louisa Nash,
