Transciption: | The Late Mr. Percival Davis
The life of a young townsman has been suddenly cut off after a short and sharp attack of pneumonia. The deceased referred to was the eldest son of Mr. Albin Davis, of Russell-road. Deceased had formerly emigrated to Australia, but returned to his native land, and on the outbreak of war he offered himself for service, but was rejected. His brother, Ernest Victor, who joined up was, however, killed about three years ago. Percival, the deceased, was following his employment at the Inspection Board till about a week before his death, which occurred on the 20th inst.; the funeral followed on the 26th at the Newtown-road cemetery, the Rev. Percy Jackson officiating. The mourners embraced the bereaved father, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law (Will and Harry), also the uncle, Mr. Edgar Davis, of Corsham. Floral tributes were sent by father, sisters and brothers at home, Edie and Will, Gertie and Harry, Charlie, Lieut. and Mrs. Yalden, his friend Bob, Mr. and Mrs. Garland, fellow workers at the Inspection Board and friends at the Liberal Club Billiard Room.
