“In loving memory of Philip William Webb, only child of Emily Webb and the late Gunner Philip John Webb of 2 Shrewsbury-terrace, Newbury, died November 12th1918 aged 1 year 10 months.
Safe in the arms of Jesus, A little while he lingered here, Our lives by his sweet love to cheer; But oh, he was far too fair to stay, The angels took our child away.”
From his loving mother and grandmother.
Gunner Webb had died of his wounds three months prior. The baby died the day after Armistice Day.
Philip William Webb, buried 18 November 1918 aged 21 months.
