Hilda Mabel Vickers

1917-1917

Hilda Mabel was born in Newbury, Berkshire, the daughter of Frederick Thomas and Kate Vickers (nee Curtis) who were married in 1914 (marriage registered in Newbury)

Hilda died aged 3 months, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 26th December 1917.

Hilda’s family:

Her father Frederick Thomas was born in1887 in Newbury, Berkshire, the son of Henry and Mary Ann Vickers (nee Bailey) who were married in 1874 (marriage registered in Newbury). In 1911 Frederick was recorded working as a Planeing Machinist (Engineering Works).

Her mother Kate was born in 1891 in Newbury, the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Ann Curtis (nee Samuels) who were married in 1870, (married registered in Newbury)

Hilda had two sisters, Kathleen Mary born in 1915 and Dorothy Irene born in 1920

The 1921 census records Frederick and Kate, Kathleen and Dorothy living in Andover Road, Newbury.

Her mother Kate died aged 30 in the Newbury District Hospital on the 5th October, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 8th October 1921.

Her father Frederick died aged 38 in the Newbury District Hospital on the 5th January 1926, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 9th January.

Her sister Dorothy Irene died aged 16 in 1936, she was buried with her parents in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 2nd June
