Henry Emmans was baptised on the 1st January 1843 in Chaddleworth Berkshire the son of Thomas (a Labourer) and Rachel Emmans (nee Powell) who were married in Chaddleworth on the 15th June 1839.
Thomas and Rachel also had the following children:

In 1851 Henry Emmans (8) was living in Chaddleworth with his grandfather Thomas Emmans (61), his uncle, Charles Emmans (21), his parents Thomas (32) and Rachel (30), his sister Martha (4) and his brothers, Isaac (2) and Walter 4 months.
By 1861 Henry Emmens (18) was working s a Farm Servant in Faccombe Hampshire.
He married (as Henry Emmens) Emma Breadmore in 1867 in Chaddleworth.
They had the following children:

In 1871 Henry Emmens (28) (recorded as Emmers on ancestry) was recorded as an Agricultural Labourer, living in Chaddleworth with his wife Emma (22), his daughter Rosa (2), his son George (4 months) and his sister Mary (10).
The 1881 census records Henry Emmans (37) as an Agricultural Labourer living in School House Lane, Brightwaltham, (Brightwalton) Berkshire with Emma (32) and their children, Rosa (12), George (10), John (8) and Kate (2) (Kitty).
By 1891 the family were living in Newbury (Dredges Yard) and Henry was working as a General Labourer. (family name recorded as Emans on ancestry).
The 1901 census records Henry Emmens (57) as a Farm/General Labourer, living in Hampton Road Newbury with his children, Walter (17), Florence (11) and Ernest (4). Emma (52) was recorded in the household of her recently widowed daughter Ada Ann Swain (24) and her grandchildren Albert George Swain (4), Alfred Mark Swain (1) and Frances Emily Swain (5 days), at 2 Lamb Cottages, Enborne Road Newbury.
In 1911 Henry Emmens (68) was recorded as a Farm Labourer living at 2 Gladstone Cottages Hampton Road Newbury with Emma (62) and their son Ernest (14), a Grocer’s Errand Boy.
Henry died aged 75 on the 25th October 1917 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 31st October.
Emma continued to live in Hampton Road until her death on the 28th April 1930, aged 81, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 1st May.
