Margaret Hyder
1901-1956
Margaret Breen born 15th June 1901 in Duncannon, New Ross Wexford Ireland, the daughter of Walter (a Sailor) and Catherine Breen (nee Dwyer) who were married on the 29th June 1887 in New Ross Wexford.
Her father Walter was baptised on the 25th July 1864 at St James and Templetown, Ferns, Wexford, Ireland, the son of Walter and Anne Breen (nee Connoly). Walter died aged 49 on the 24th December1914 in Duncannon, New Ross.
Her mother Catherine was born on the 2nd August 1867 in Slade Wexford Ireland, the daughter of William and Anty Dwyer (nee Fortune). She was baptised on the 16th June 1869 at St James and Templetown, Ferns, Wexford. Catherine died aged 80 on the 12th October 1947 in Duncannon, New Ross.

The 1901 and 1911 Irish census records record the family living in Duncannon Town (Ballyhack, Wexford) as follows:
1901: Walter (38), a Watchman, Catherine (36), a Housekeeper, and their children Mary K (13), Anastasia (11), Walter (9) and Richard J (1)
1911: Walter (42), a Labourer, Catherine (40) and their children Statia (20) (Anastasia), Walter (19), Richard (11), Margaret (9), Elizabeth (7), John (5) (Michael John), Hanora (5) and Edward (3).
Margaret married Charles William Hyder in 1937 (marriage registered in Marylebone)
(Charles William was born on the 6th March 1889 he was baptised on the 7th April 1889 in Wootton Rivers, Wiltshire, the son of Charles Alfred and Sarah Ann Hyder (nee Kingston(e)) who were married in 1885 (marriage registered in Tunbridge)).
The 1939 Register records Margaret living with her in-laws Charles Alfred and Sarah Ann Hyder, at “Mardens” The Folly, Stroud Green, Newbury. Her husband Charles William was recorded as a Lorry Driver at Staff College at 22 Kings Ride, (Frimley/Camberley area) Surrey.
Charles William died aged 54 in 1943, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 16th September.
Margaret continued to live at “Mardens” until her death in 1956, she died aged 54 on the 11th January at Park Hospital Reading Berkshire. She was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 16th January 1956.
Probate: HYDER Margaret of The Mardens The Folly Greenham-road Newbury Berkshire widow died 11th January 1956 at Park Hospital Reading Probate Oxford 22nd February to Thomas Stephen Lupton plumber. Effects: £3362 18s
(Thomas Stephen Lupton was Margaret’s nephew, he was the son of her sister Mary Kate Breen who married George H Lupton in 1921 (marriage registered in Gt Ouseburn Yorkshire England))
