Recorder's Notes | John was brought up in 4, Smith's Buildings, The Marsh, off Northbrook Rd, Newbury, the son of a Chairmaker. He was appointed a Postman in 1892 and beame an Inspector of Postmen by the time he retired. He married Mary Alexander, daughter of Shepherd Thomas & Naomi of East Garston, in 1895 and had 2 children. They lived in 53 York Rd, Newbury until their deaths. Daughter-in-law Violet and granddaughter Mary were living with them in 1939. John left £1232 to son John. Source: Ancestry records. |
