Recorder's Notes | Arthur was born to a Journeyman Tailor in Newbury on 6 June 1895. in the 1911 census he was living with his family in 3 Pince's Place, Newbury, working as an errand boy for a dyer's company. He served in the RASC as a Private in WW1. He married Dorothy Kate Tilley in 1925. In the 1939 Register they were living with their son Cecil, born Oct 1927, and brother, George, a butcher's slaughterman, in 5 Remembrance Rd, Newbury. Arthur was doing heavy work in a Wheat & Oils (Flour ) Mill. He died in the District Hospital and left £285 to Dorothy. Source: Ancestry Records. |
