Anthony Geoffrey Tucker
1942-1943
Anthony Geoffrey was the adopted son of Geoffrey Braybrooke and Reta May Tucker (nee North).
Reta May North was born on the 3rdJuly 1913, (birth registered in Newbury) the daughter of Stephen and Ethel K North (nee Piper) who were married in 1912 (marriage registered in Newbury).
Geoffrey Braybrooke Tucker was born on the 6thOctober 1902, in Brighton, Sussex, the son of John Charles and Kathleen Florence Tucker (nee Thomson) who were married on the 17thJune 1893, at St Nicolas Church, Newbury, Berkshire. Georffrey was a widower when he married Reta. His 1st wife was Emily Caroline May Matthews. They were married on the 12thMay 1924, in Bemerton, Wiltshire. Emily Caroline May died in 1928, after falling down the stairs while pregnant. (Her baby, John Braybrooke Tucker, was born as a result of the fall, but died just before his mother).
Geoffrey and Reta had the following children:
Elizabeth Ann, born 1936, in Newbury
Stephen Braybrooke, born 1939, in Newbury
Jennifer, born in 1949, in Newbury
They also had a daughter (born in the 1952, not named as still living)
The 1939 Register records Geoffrey as a Chauffeur and Gardener, living at Cope Hall Cottage, Skinner’s Green, Enborne, Berkshire, with Reta and their children.
In the 1950 Electoral Registers, Geoffrey and Reta were recorded living at The Cottage, Marlston House, Bucklebury.
The 1959-63 Electoral Registers record Geoffrey, Reta and their son Stephen, living in Hurst Hill Cottage, Hurst Hill, Horsham, West Sussex
Geoffrey died in 1987, in Brackley, Northamptonshire.
Reta died in 1995, in Brackley, Northamptonshire
