Elisha Alder
1856-1922
Elisha was born in Denchworth, Berkshire, the son of Charles and Martha Alder (nee Wheeler) who were married on the 11th August 1833 in Denchworth, Berkshire,
Elisha’s father Charles was and Agricultural Labourer, he was born c1804 in Denchworth. Charles died aged 86 in 1890 in Denchworth.
His mother Martha was born c1814 in Lyford, Berkshire. (Possible death aged 63 in 1875 in Oxfordshire).
Charles and Martha also had the following children:

Mary Ann c1835
Charles 1838
Moses 1840
Eli 1844
Elijah 1847
Fanny Drucilla 1850
Emily Leah 1853
Elisha never married.
He was recorded working as an Agricultural Labourer in 1871, a Market Garden Labourer in 1901 and a Farm Labourer in 1911.
Both the 1861 and 1871 census records record Elisha living at home with his parents and siblings in Denchworth, Berkshire.
In 1901 he was living at 2 Canal Side, Norwood, Middlesex
The 1911 census records him living in a cottage at Frenches Farm, St Mary Bourne, near Andover, Hampshire.
Elisha died aged 64 in 1922, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 2nd May.
