Norman Stanley Colhoun
Stanley, as he was known in the family, came from Bundoran in Ireland. He was the second son of Samuel Cecil and Mary, nee Beatty. His father was Station Master at Bundoran. He excelled at sports and was a member of the Boys’ Brigade. When World War II broke out, he volunteered for the RAF and served in the Middle East, where he met his wife, Katherine, and they were married at Heliopolis in Egypt in 1946.
After the war, they spent some time with his family in Ireland and then returned to England where Stanley trained as a Teacher at Wymondham College in Norfolk. He gained an excellent reputation in his profession and was appointed Deputy Headteacher at Kingsclere C.E. Primary School in September, 1958.
He and his wife retired to Cornwall in the early 1970s. He organised the Newquay School of English for Spanish students for several years and enjoyed being part of the Newquay Drama Society, Wine Club and the Golf Club. He was a founder member of the St Columb Probus Club. For many years, he was church warden at St Mawgan-in-Pydar and later relinquished the office to become sacristan.
He had undergone an aortic valve replacement operation at the Royal Victoria Hospital in 1979 and died in 1987 after suffering a heart attack.

Norman Stanley Colhoun ("$/6/1923 to 27/9/1987) was the son of Samuel Cecil and Mary, nee Beatty, Colhoun.
He married Katherine Mary Copas in Heliopolis, Egypt as they were stationed there during WW2. He was a teacher and at one time a poultry farm manager. Retired to St. Colomb Major, Newquay, Cornwall
