Arthur Montague Oliver
1899-1899
Arthur was born in Newbury, Berkshire, the son of Frederick George and Mary Jane Louisa Amelia Oliver (nee Lacy/Lacey) who were married in 1881 (marriage registered in Newbury)
Arthur died aged 1 month, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 17th May 1899. (Funeral service was held at St John the Evangelist, Newbury)
Arthur’s family:
His father Frederick was born c1860 in Newbury, Berkshire, the son of Abner (a Labourer) and Emma Oliver (nee Hicks) who were married on the 12th June 1859 in Thatcham, Berkshire.
His mother Mary Jane Louisa Amelia Lacey was born in 1861, in Lincolnshire, the daughter of Andrew and Maria Lacey (nee Walker)
Frederick and Mary also had the following children (births from 1881- 1897 in Newbury):

Edith Dorothy 1897 (died aged 1 month, buried in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 15th November)

In 1881 Arthur’s parents were living in Waterloo Place, Newbury, Frederick was recorded as a Journeyman Brush Maker.
The 1891 census records Frederick (31) as a Brush Maker, living at 16 Denmark Road, Newbury with Mary (30) and their children, Andrew (10), John (6), Albert (4) and Sidney (5 months)
The 1901 census records Frederick (41) as a Painter, living at 107 Elm Park Road, Reading, Berkshire, with Mary (41) and their children, John (16), a Cycle Maker, Albert (14), a Printer, Sidney (10), Archibald (8), Lilian (6), Edward (2 months).
In 1911 Frederick (51) was recorded as a House Painter, living at 97 Elm Park Road, Reading, with Mary (50) and their sons, Sidney James (20), a Tin Works Labourer, Leonard William (8) and William Booth (6)
Mary Jane Louisa Amelia died aged 55 in 1916, in Reading.
Frederick remarried in 1917, (marriage registered in Reading) his 2nd wife was Maude Sarah I Rice (aka Sarah)
They had a son Rowland Frederick, born 15th December 1919
The 1939 Register records Frederick as a Factory Labourer, living at 97 Elm Park Road, Reading with Sarah and their son Rowland, a General Labourer.
Frederick George died aged 79 in 1940, in Reading.
