Transciption: | DANIEL CHARLES LEE DEATH OF THE "BOOTS" AT THE "QUEENS." The death of Daniel Lee, the " boots " at the " Queens," removes a familiar personage, well-known to all who have had occasion to stay at or use the hotel. “Dan," as he was popularly known, came from London with Mr Pyatt to the Old "Globe," removing with him to the "White Hart," and subsequently to the "Three Tuns" which was the sign of the hostelry before it adopted that of the " Queen's," under which it has been known for twenty years. “Dan's" connection with the hotel extended over a period of 28 years, and his obliging manner and readiness to help, made his quite a favourite. Latterly he had been in bad health, and his death at the age of 51 is to be regretted.
