GEORGE DAVID GREEN
George was born in 1858 in Kintbury (Q2 Hungerford 2c 213).
No 1861 or 1871 census records have been found.
He married Esther Dell (607) in 1887 (Q4 Newbury 2c 534).
In 1891 they were living at 3, Harrisons Buildings, Stroud Green where they lived for all their married life. He was a gardener & they had a 2-year-old son, George Henry.
In 1901 he was 43 & Esther 34. They now have 3 sons: George Henry, 12; Frank, 5 & Reginald, 2.
By 1911 George’s widowed mother-in-law was living with the family. She died in 1912.
In 1921 George, 62, was a Private Gardener for Miss Myers at Greenham Court. Esther is 54 & son Reginald is still at home. He is a Plumber’s Improver for Mr R. Morton & Sons, Sanitary Engineers.
Esther died in 1928 & George lived until 1937 when he died aged 79. He was living at 47, Mill Lane, Newbury at the time, possibly with one of his sons. Probate was proved in Oxford at £283 8s 9d with his eldest son, George Henry, as executor.
George was buried at NRC on 20 November 1937.
