Eva May Swinden

Eva May was born in Newbury, Berkshire, the daughter of Frank and Harriet Mary Swinden (nee Bullock) who were married in 1896 (marriage registered in Epsom). Eva died aged 12 days. She was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 30th December 1898.

Eva’s family:

Her father Frank was a Journeyman Milkman. He was born in 1875, in Newbury, the son of William and Elizabeth Swinden (nee Whiting) who were married in 1871 (marriage registered in Newbury). Frank died aged 59 in 1934 in Newbury.

Her mother Harriet Mary was born c1876 in Eastbourne, Sussex, the daughter of Charles and Fanny Bullock (nee Hutson) who wee married in 1869 (marriage registered in Lewes). Harriet Mary died aged 47 in 1921 in Newbury.

Eva’s siblings:

Lucy Elizabeth born 1897 in Surrey (died 1897)

William born c1900 in Greenham

John c1902 in Greenham

Gladys Irene 1906 in Greenham (died aged 15, in 1921)

Edith Elizabeth 1908 in Greenham

Frederick James in 1911 in Greenham (died aged 5 months in 1911, buried 2nd Sept. at St Mary Greenham))

A male child unnamed in 1912 (died aged 4 hours in 1912 unname, buried died 13th July at St Mary Greenham)

Twins: Joan and Lily born in 1919 (both died soon after birth 1919)

Census records also record an adopted son, Frank Walter Ranger Sdn born c1898 in Wimbledon Surrey

The 1901 census records the family living in The Folly, Greenham, Berkshire.

The 1911 census also records them living in Greenham.

The 1921 census records Frank living in The Folly, Greenham with his daughter Edith Elizabeth.
