Daisy Evelyn Viner

Daisy was born in Newbury, Berkshire, the daughter of John Snow and Alice Ann Viner (nee Hall) who were married in 1891 (marriage registered in Newbury).

Daisy died aged 6 months. She was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 30th September 1898.

Daisy’s family:

Her father John Snow was born on the 10th June 1869 in Newbury, Berkshire, the illegitimate son of Elizabeth Ann Snow. Elizabeth married William Viner in 1870.

Daisy’s mother Alice Ann was born on the 26th November 1868 in Newbury, the daughter of William and Susan Hall (nee Winstanley) who were married in 1868 (marriage registered in Prescott Lancashire)

John and Alice also had the following children:

Beatrice Alice born c1893 (died soon after birth, buried in the NRC on the 11th March 1893)

John Winstanley Snow born c1894

Kathleen Annie Snow born c1895

Percy William Snow born 1896

Doris Irene born 1900

Reginald Leslie born 1902

The 1901 census records John (31) as a Draper’s Assistant, living in a cottage in Railway Road, Newbury, with Alice (32) and their children, John (7), Kathleen (6), Percy (4) and Doris (1)

The 1911 census records the family living at 5 Railway Road, Newbury. John was still working as a Draper’s Assistant.

The 1939 Register records John as Incapacitated, living at 173 Whitley Wood Lane, Reading, Berkshire with Alice and their son John, a Brewer’s Lorry Driver.

John and Alice continued to live at 173 Whitley Wood Lane until their deaths.

Alice Ann Viner died aged 76 in 1945 (death registered in Reading)

John Snow Viner died aged 78 in 1946 (death registered in Reading)
