Recorder's Notes | It has proved difficult to deduce which child this refers to No burials found for a child with initials V. E. M. or E. V. M. in the cemetery records but working through the deaths for children with the initials E. M. M. that are buried in the cemetery there are 5 possibilities Edward Manser Mayo aged 7 months buried 8th July 1859, Eliza Maud Mary Matthews aged 17 months buried in 4th December 1865 but she already has a MI so can be eliminated, Edith Mary Manners aged 0 buried 29th Dec 1888, Eva Maud Mildenhall aged 2 months buried 3rd Feb 1906, and Evelyn Mary Mildenhall (middle name recorded as May in NRC burial accounts) aged 5 months buried 21st Feb 1898 (in a private grave). EVELYN SEEMS THE LIKELY CANDIDATE AS SHE IS SHOWN IN THE ACCOUNTS AS HAVING A PRIVATE GRAVE - WHICH THIS IS. |
This information is taken from the accounts ledgers of the Newbury Cemetery Company that originally ran and maintained the cemetery.
