Elizabeth, her parents, siblings and early life:

Elizabeth Hannah was born in Warren Row, Reading, Berkshire, the daughter of Alfred and Hannah Winter (nee Rumble) who were married in 1871 (marriage registered in Wantage)

Her father Alfred was born in 1843 in Upton, Berkshire, the son of Job and Jemima Winter (nee Dearlove)

Her mother Hannah was born c1848 in East Ilsley, Berkshire.

Alfred and Hannah also had the following children (all births registered in Wantage except Sarah Alice):

George Rumble born c1868 (Hannah’s son, before she married)

Arthur John 1872

Sarah Alice 1876 (birth registered in Wokingham)

Harry c1878

Albert 1879

Walter 1881

Edith Rose 1883

 

In 1881 Elizabeth (7) was recorded living at Salt Box Farm, Blewbury, Berkshire with her parents Alfred (38), a Farm Labourer and Hannah (38) and her siblings George (13), Arthur John (8), Sarah (4), Harry (3), Albert (2) and Walter (1 month)

Elizabeth in later life:

Elizabeth married Harry Lovelock on the 12th February 1895 in Bray Berkshire

(Harry was born in 1871 in Caversham, Berkshire, the son of George William and Mary Ann Lovelock (nee Watts) who were married in 1868 (marriage registered in Henley)

Elizabeth and Harry had the following three children:

Winifred Elsie born 11th April 1896 in Aldershot

Harry George born 30th August 1897 in Henley on Thames

Jack born 27th August 1909 in Stokenchurch

In 1901 Elizabeth (28), was recorded living at 18 York Road, Henley on Thames with her husband Harry (29) a Butcher and their children Winifred (4) and Harry (3).

In 1911 the family were living at 2 Belverdere Cottages, York Town Road, College Town, Camberley, Surrey.

By 1918 they were living at 1 Avon View, King’s Road Newbury.

Their son Harry George died aged 20 on the 22nd March 1918 whilst serving as a 1st Class Air Mechanic in the Royal Naval Air Service. He is Remembered with Honour at Steenkerke Belgian Military Cemetery.

Elizabeth was widowed in 1923, her husband Harry died aged 52 in the Workhouse after a long and painful illness, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 14th September.

Elizabeth Hannah died aged 64 on the 17th June 1937, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 21st June.
