Joseph Edwin Buxey (1894 – 1896)
Maurice Buxey was born in 1863 in Inkpen. He married Bertha Mary Smith in Q1 1888 in Newbury. Bertha gave birth to a son Maurice Reuben Buxey on 21 December 1888 in Newbury. Sadly, Bertha died four days later on 25 December 1888 and was buried on 29 December 1888 at Newtown Road Cemetery.
Maurice subsequently married Elizabeth Martin in Newbury in 1893. Elizabeth was born 1866 in Chilton Foliat in Wiltshire.
Maurice and Elizabeth had nine children the eldest was a son Joseph Edwin who was born circa December 1894 in Newbury. Joseph died December 1896 aged 2 and was buried at Newtown Road Cemetery on 28 December 1896.
Maurice and Elizabeth with various children were living at 37 Jack Street in Newbury in both the 1901 and 1911 censuses. Maurice died 6 December 1940 aged 77 while living at 1 Park Way in Newbury and recorded as a retired butcher. He was buried at Shaw Cemetery on 10 December 1940. Elizabeth died 12 October 1944 aged 78 while still living at 1 Park Way and was buried 16 October 1944 at Shaw Cemetery.
