Charles was baptised 25th November 1827 at St Nicolas Church Newbury, the son of Richard and Elizabeth Wright (nee Triggs) who were married on the 25th May 1817 at St Nicolas Church Newbury.
John’s father Richard was baptised on the 25th February 1787 at St Nicolas Church Newbury the son of John and Sarah Wright (nee Brunsdon) who were married on the 13th November 1780 at St Nicolas Church Newbury. He worked as a Tanner and a Coal Merchant’s Labourer. He died aged 63 in 1850 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 2nd August.
His mother Elizabeth was baptised on the 13th May 1791 at St Nicolas Newbury the daughter of Richard and Jane Triggs (nee Kember) who were married on the 28th May 1787 at St Nicolas Newbury. She died aged 77 in 1867 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 15th February.

John baptised on the 15th December 1822
Richard baptised 17th July 1825
Sarah baptised 14th February 1830
Elizabeth baptised 12th May 1833 (died aged 5 months, buried 24th September at St Nicolas Newbury)
Eliza baptised 21st September 1834 (died aged 1,buried 21st August 1835 at St Nicolas Newbury)
In 1841 Charles (13) was living in Northcroft Lane Newbury with his father Richard (50), his mother Elizabeth (50) and his sister Sarah (10).
Charles was a Labourer he married Mary Ann Haines on the 17th October 1850 at St Mary’s Church Speenhamland, they had a daughter Eliza, born c1856.
(Mary Ann was born c1825 in Speen the daughter of James and Mary Ann Haines (nee Everett) who were married in Speen in 1820).
The 1851 census records Charles (23) living in Kennet Place, Newbury with Mary Ann (25) (recorded as Marianne).
The family were recorded living in Dredge’s Yard, Newbury in 1861, Rose & Thistle Yard, Newbury in 1871 and Pembroke Road, Newbury in 1881.
Mary Ann died aged 58 in 1883, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 12th May.
In 1891 Charles (64) was lodging at 17 Cheap Street, Newbury. He died aged 69 in the Newbury Workhouse on the 3rd December 1895 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 7th December.
