Recorder's Notes | Pollie, Albert & Annie were the children of Richard Allen Prestoe, Engine fitter, & Eliza nee Hatt, at 5, Pleasant Place, St John's Rd, Newbury, later moving to no 6. Pollie helped at home until her death. Annie was a dressmaker and did not marry. She died at no 11, St John's Rd, Newbury, leaving £186 to Reginad Prestoe Smith, a company secretary. Albert was a Printer's Compositor who married Mary Elizabeth in 1895. They lived in Harringay, Middlesex. They had two girls and 2 boys. Albert was living in 4, Salcombe Villas at his death. Mary Jane Prestoe was the wife of Albert's brother, Harry Richard, Whitesmith. Mary was born to Richard & Emma Light in Shefford. Richard, a Police Constable, died a year after Mary's birth. His widow brought the children up at 3, Chestnut Court, off Bartholomew St, Newbury and worked as a Nurse. Mary was an Apprentice & Boarder with a Hairdresser & his wife, a dressmaker of Pound St. She was living in the Parish of when the Banns were read for her marriage to Harry in 1898 in Newbury.
