FRANCIS GEORGE HALL

We have to record the death of Mr. E.G. Hall which took place somewhat

suddenly yesterday (Wednesday) morning at his residence, Salisbury Terrace. About

three o'clock Mr. Hall attempted to get out of bed, when his wife heard a strange

gurgling noise, and rousing herself she saw blood flowing from her husband's mouth,

and before assistance could be obtained he had passed away.

Mr. Hall had been in declining health for some years, and it is thought that

continuous coughing had weakened his lungs, which had already been impaired, and

one of the vessels becoming ruptured terminated life in the melancholy way above

described. On the previous day the deceased had been into the town, and in reply to

inquiries stated that he felt somewhat better.

M. Hall was in business many years as a chemist in the Market -place, and was one of

the oldest local Freemasons. His death will be regretted by many to whom he was

intimately known from his long connection with Newbury.

The funeral has been fixed for Monday.

"Missing years", but in A.0 Book.
