JAMES TUBB

 THE LATE MR. JAMES TUBB.

The death occurred on Friday last of Mr. James Tubb, at his residence Mount-villas, at the advanced age of 78. Mr. Tubb in early life was engaged in agriculture, and for many years occupied Netherton-farm, near Faccombe, Hants, but approaching 40 years ago he retired from farming pursuits and settled at Clayhill, subsequently removing to Mount-villas. Upon his removal to Newbury he identified himself with the Baptist Church, of which he subsequently became a deacon.

His failing health had prepared his friends for the change which occurred last Friday. He was laid to rest in Newbury cemetery on Tuesday. The coffin was of polished oak, with solid brass furniture. The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. Alfred Jackson.

The mourners were Mr. Richard Osmond, Mr. Thomas N. Cave, Mr. T. M. Nias. Mr. Bowden, Mr. Whitington, Mr. J. J. Davies, the Rev. G. J, Knight officiated.

Mr. Tubb leaves a widow (his second wife) but no issue. Mr. Tubb's brothers will be remembered, one of whom occupied Hill Green farm, and another lived the latter years of his life at Thatcham.
