Transciption: | AGED ALMSMAN'S SUDDEN DEATH Next morning when the charwoman who looks after the place arrived about 11 o'clock, she found the old man dead in his chair with his glasses and the open book on the table. Dr. Simmons was called and expressed the opinion that death had occurred during sleep. Deceased had previously been attended to by the doctor. A Wiltshireman by birth he carried on business in Wash-road as a master plumber and was succeeded by his son. The funeral took place yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon at the Old Cemetery, the Rev. C.B.Clayton officiating. The mourners were Mr. and Mrs. George Morton (son and daughter-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Morton (son and daughter-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Laidler (son-in-law and daughter), and Mrs. Deadmarsh (sister) of London. Wreaths were sent by the widow and children, Miss Insley, Miss Baxter, and Miss MacDonald, and the neighbours. |
