Transciption: | EMMA ELLEN ABSALOM FUNERAL OF MRS. ABSALOM We regret to announce that Mrs. Absalom, wife of Alderman Absalom, died on Christmas morning, at the age of 83. The funeral took place yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon, the body being taken from St. Mary's-villas to the parish church, where the first part of the service was conducted, the Rector reading the opening sentences, and the Rev. E. P. Spurway, the lesson. The choir chanted the Psalm, and sang the hymn, "Now the labourer's task is o'er." The Interment in the Cemetery was conducted by the Rector. The mourners were Mr. Alderman Absalom, Mr. Absalom (nephew), Mr. James Eatwell, Mr. Garland, sen.. Mr. Garland, jun. Amongst those in church were Mr. Councillor Long, Mrs. Parker, Mr. and Mrs J. Parker, Misses Parker, Mrs. H. Seymour, Miss Westmacott, Mr. Thos. H. Stillman, and others. The funeral was conducted by Mr. H. B. Hanington, of Northbrosk-street.
