The articles below contain information about William Frederick George Willis.
Lilian Willis (1883 – 1883)
William Frederick George Willis (1890 – 1891)
Annie Willis (1850 – 1886)
George Willis was born circa 1859 in Melksham in Wiltshire. His grandfather Joseph Willis was born circa 1775 in Thatcham. George married Annie Keepence in Newbury in 1882.
Lilian Willis born circa April 1883 in Newbury. Sadly, Lilian died in November 1883 aged 7 months and she was buried at Newtown Road Cemetery on 12 November 1883.
Annie Willis died in March 1886 aged 34 and is shown having a service on 13 March 1886 at St John the Evangelist in Newbury, she was living at Eastfields in Newbury at that time. All those having a service at St John’s are buried in Newtown Road Cemetery. Unfortunately the page for March has been cut in the accounts book and most of the name removed. Therefore there is no record.
George then remarried on 26 July 1886 at St John the Evangelist in Newbury to Annie Dell. Annie was born circa 1857 in Kingston upon Thames in Surrey. At the time of the marriage George was a sawyer and both were living at Rose Cottage in Eastfields.
George and Annie had a son William Frederick George Willis born circa March 1890 in Newbury. Sadly, William died in February 1891 aged 11 months and was buried at Newtown Road Cemetery on 10 February 1891.
In the 1891 census George and Annie were living in Sarum Cottages, Enborne Road in Newbury with George recorded as a railway bridge labourer. The couple were recorded in Reading in the 1901 and 1911 censuses. They both died in Reading, Annie on 8 September 1924 and George on 8 May 1925 and were both buried at London Road Cemetery.
George and Annie (nee Dell) did not have any further children after William.
