Maria Osborne/Osborn
1802-1890
Maria was born on the 13th November 1802, she was baptised on the 28th November 1802 in North Walsham, Norfolk, the daughter of William and Sarah Golder
Maria Goulder married William Osborne on the 12th March 1833, at St James, Paddington, Middlesex.
(William was baptised on the 11th June 1793 in Shipdham, Norfolk, the son of John and Mary Osborn)
William and Maria had the following children (baptisms record William as a Coachman):
Christopher George baptised 11th August 1833 at St John the Baptist, Croydon, Surrey
Emma Maria born 26th March 1835, baptised 12th April 1835 in West Wickham, Kent
Sarah Ann baptised 2nd June 1839 in Croydon, Surrey
William born in 1844 in Burghclere, Hampshire
The 1841 census records William (43) as a Coachman, living in Wickham Street, West Wickham, Kent, with Maria (34), Christopher (8), Emma (6) and Sarah (2).
In 1851 Maria (47), a Coachman’s wife, Emma (16), Sarah (11) and William (6) were recorded living in Adbury, (near Burghclere) Hampshire. William (57) was recorded lodging in Sussex.
In 1861 William (67), an Innkeeper, Maria (57) and their daughter Emma (26), a Dressmaker were living in Lambourn Road, Bagnor, Berkshire.
Maria was widowed in 1868, William died aged 76 (death registered in Newbury)
The 1871 census records Maria (67) as an Innkeeper at The Five Bells, Lambourn Road, Bagnor, with her daughters Emma (35), a Dressmaker, Sarah (29), a Milliner and her grandson Konrad Christopher Osborn (8) (son of her son Christopher George and his wife Katharina (nee Happel))
In 1881 Maria (79) was recorded living at 2, West Street, Newbury, Berkshire, with her daughter Sarah (40) a Dressmaker.
Maria died aged 88 on the 23rd November 1890 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 26th November.
