BELLINGER – Nov. 8, at Mayor’s-lane, Newbury, Beatrice the dearly beloved child of George and Elizabeth Bellinger, aged 4 years and 2 months.

Beatrice was born in Newbury, the daughter of George (a Bricklayer) and Elizabeth Bellinger (nee Wright) who were married in 1879 (marriage registered in Newbury)

 

Beatrice’s siblings were:

Twins: Daisy and Rose c1889 (Daisy died aged 4 months in 1889, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 7th June)

William Cornelius 1892 (died aged 25 on the 31st May 1916 at the Battle of Jutland aboard HMS Queen Mary)

Albert Edward 1893

Ellen Elizabeth 1896

Francis Victor 1897

Evelyn Maud c1900 (died age 1 in 1901, buried in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 20th May)

 

Beatrice also had a half-sister Alice Mary Wright (later known as Alice Mary Bellinger) who was born on the 14th February 1878, baptised on the 8th March 1878 at St Nicolas Church Newbury (born before her mother married, no father recorded on the baptism record).

 

Beatrice died on the 8th November 1890 aged 4 years and 2 months, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 12th November.

 

In 1891 the family were living in Mayor’s Lane Newbury. By 1901 they had moved to 16 Adey’s Buildings, Stroud Green, Newbury.

 

Beatrice’s mother Elizabeth died aged 50 on the 8th June 1909, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 12th June.

 

Her father George remarried in 1912, his 2nd wife was Annie Lavinia Preston (nee Wright). (Annie was George’s sister-in-law, his 1st wife’s sister)

 

George died aged 72 on the 9th August 1932 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 12th August.
