There is no burial register information available for Maria Goddard.
Only three of the five burial register books still exist as far as we know and these are held at the Berkshire Record Office.
Stillborn children were not recorded in the burial register, only in the cemetery accounts.

Maria Goddard
c1809-1888
Maria was born on the 26th March 1809 in Stroud Green Newbury Berkshire she was baptised at St Nicolas Church Newbury on the 23rd April 1809 as Maria Abraham illegitimate daughter of Hannah Showell (retputed father William Abraham).
In 1815 Maria Showell (6) was recorded in the household of her widowed grandmother Frances Showell (42) on the west side of Cheap Street Newbury (Factory), others occupants were Hannah Showell (26), Mary Showell (19), Ann Showell (12), William Showell (10), Thomas Showell (3) and 2 grandchildren, James Showell (2) and Benjamin Showell (infant).
Maria Showell married Thomas Apppleton on the 25th April 1830 at St Mary’s Church Thatcham, both were single and from Greenham.
Thomas and Maria had a daughter, Maria, born c1834 and a son George, born c1836, both were born in Greenham.
Thomas died (before 1840) and Maria remarried in 1840, her 2nd husband was William Goddard (born c1816 in Thatcham Berkshire).

Maria gave birth to their 1st child, William Thomas in 1840.
The 1841 census records William Goddard (25), Tile Maker, Maria Goddard (27), Maria Goddard (7), George Goddard (5) and William Goddard (1), living in Coley Terrace, St Mary Reading.
The 1851 census records William (35), Agricultural Labourer, Maria (39), Maria (17), (recorded as Maria Goddard), George (15), (recorded as George Goddard), William (11), James (9), Eliza (7), Daniel (5), David (3) and Alfred (1) living in Hollington East Woodhay Hampshire.
Maria gave birth to another son, Joseph, in 1855.
The 1861 census records the family living in East End East Woodhay and the 1871 census records them living in Hollington Rise East Woodhay. Both census records record William as an Agricultural Labourer.
By 1881 William and Maria were living in Lott Kiln, Hurley Berkshire, William was working as a Brick Burner.
Maria died on the 13th March 1888 at Newbury District Hospital, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 16th March (NBI has burial date as 18th March).
The 1891 census records William (75), Brick Maker, living at 2 Ashton Court Newbury he died aged 81 in 1896 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 13th May
