Arthur Bosley

1887-1888

 

Arthur was named Joseph Arthur on his birth registration. He was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Bosley (nee Bird) who married in Newbury in 1887. Joseph was born 1857 in Thatcham and Elizabeth was born c1867 in Newbury.

Joseph and Elizabeth also had the following children (all births registered in Newbury):

Frederick George 1889

Henrietta 1890 (died aged 22 months buried in the NRC on the 16th March1892)

James Arthur 1891

Alice Ada 1894

Edwin David 1896

Francis James c1898

Stanley Cecil 1899 (died aged 21 months buried in the NRC on the 10th May1901)

Charles Henry 1901

Francis Cecil 1904

Margaret Maud 1906

 

Arthur (Joseph Arthur) died aged 3 months on the 30th January 1888 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 2nd February.

His father Joseph worked as a General Labourer (1891), Stoker (1901) and Paper, Rag and Bone Dealer (1911) and the family lived in Golding’s Yard Greenham (1888),  Percy Place, Bartholomew Street (1891), 11 Union Court (1901) and  8 Princess Palace, Cheap Street Newbury (1911)

Joseph died aged 62 on the 17th November 1918 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 22nd November

Elizabeth died aged 74 on the 22nd September 1938 she was laid to rest on the 26th September.
