John was m to Emily Burgess.

He was a bricklayer living 1871 Old Road. 1881 Old Newtown road, 1891 Prospect Cottages, Park View Terrace, Greenham, 1901 4 York Road, York Terrace and finally as a widower at Denmark house living with his son and his family
