The death took place recently at Bournemouth where he had been living with his son, of Mr. S.J. Ball, formerly newsagent and tobacconist of Cheap-street, Newbury.
The funeral was the Bartholomew-street Methodist Church on March 12th, the minister (Rev. W. Lawson Jones) conducting the service. He also officiated at the Old Cemetery, Newtown-road.
A large number of relatives and friends attended, the chief mourners being the widow, three sons and daughter. Many wreaths were also received, for Mr. Ball was well-known and respected in the town.
