Transciption: | ELIZA PACKER THE LATE MISS PACKER. —Yesterday was laid to rest in the Newbury Cemetery the remains of Miss Eliza Packer, a member of one of our oldest and most respected families in the town. Deceased was the second daughter of the late Mr. John Packer, since whose death in 1854 there has been no removal by death in the family, which consisted of two brothers Mr. John Packer and the Rev. Charles Packer, vicar of Longwood, near Huddersfield, and three sisters, Miss Packer of Donnington-square, the deceased and Mrs. J. P. Jackson. Miss Eliza Packer. in conjunction with her sisters, conducted for some years a ladies' school, to which they succeeded on its being relinquished by the late Miss Barnes. They lived in a fine old house of the Queen Anne period, which occupied the site of the Baptist Chapel. Since 1858, when the school was given up, the deceased and her sister have lived in Donnington-square, and every good work in the parish has received her best support.
