Transciption:	RUTH SMITH Funeral of a Constable’s Wife The wife of P.C. Smith died last week, and the funeral was attended by Supt. Bennett, Sergts. Seagrove and Borlase, and eight constables, one of whom, on behalf of the force, placed a floral wreath on the coffin of the deceased. Ruth Smith

Ruth Smith nee Ruck was born in cricklade in 1860 and married Israel Smith, a police constable in 1883. She died in 1884 age 26
