THE LATE MRS. BURN
We regret to record the death of Mrs. Emily Burn, which occurred on Sunday at “Heather Brae,” Andover-road, Newbury, in her 81st year. Born in 1853 in Warminster, Mrs. Burn was the second daughter of the late Mr. Reynolds of that town, her elder sister being Mrs. Croxford of Newbury, who died 19 years ago, and was in business with the late Mr. Jackson. Until her marriage to Mr. James Burn in 1882, she was a member of the local Baptist Church, and afterwards, as long as health permitted, was a regular worshipper at the Congregational Church. In her time she was actively associated with the Mothers’ Meeting and the British Women’s Temperance Association.
The funeral took place yesterday (Wednesday) at the Newtown-road Cemetery, the Rev. E.H. Titchmarsh officiating.
The mourners were Mr. and Mrs. F.J. Burn, Mr. and Mrs. L.V. Burn and Mr. and Mrs. A.T. Burn (sons and daughters-in-law). Etc.
