Welcome Day 19th April 2015

As usual for our Welcome Days the weather which had been shorts and t-shirt sunny all week turned very cold and the heaters in the Chapel were put to full use. Yvonne Paris led an Introductory Tour in the morning. One of the participants, Margaret Bell spotted an unusual buttercup and closer examination labelled it a 'bulbous buttercup'. We think it's unusual in Newbury but maybe you know better?

We were delighted to welcome James Heasman, the Town Council's new Ground Maintenance Officer, who updated us on future plans for the cemetery.

The next event in the cemetery will be Open Studios which begins on 2nd May. Do take an opportunity to see the restored stained glass window as well as enjoying the art.
